WA Angels Suffer Setback

LFL360.com, Brett Bonetti

The Western Australia Angels have been hit with a major setback with Defensive End Stephanie “Lethal’ Lethborg suffering a serious knee injury during training last week.

Lethborg ruptured her ACL and MCL and will undergo a knee reconstruction this week, but still has high hopes on playing for the Angels in their first season.

With the inaugural season of the Legends Football League Australia drawing closer, WA Angels Natasha Haines and Stephanie Lethborg joined me in the studio for a radio interview.

In 2008, Lethborg and Haines were on very different teams. Lethborg was known as “Bionica” on the TV show “Gladiators” and Haines was a Challenger on the show.

Lethborg dished out plenty of punishment to the challengers, and Haines went on to win the Gladiators season and took home a brand new car and the winner’s cash prize.

The pair were not allowed to speak to each other back then, but fast forward to 2013, and they find themselves as WA Angels teammates, and together are looking forward to taking on the New South Wales Surge, Queensland Brigade and Victoria Maidens.

Lethborg and Haines also spoke about the Angels upcoming first games, the release of the new LFL Australia season fixtures, and current training with the Angels. Lethborg also speaks about her setback due to her serious knee injury.
