NASHVILLE VERSION 2.0 ARE SLIGHT FAVORITES HEADING INTO OMAHA FOR A BATTLE OF THE HEARTLAND

(OMAHA, NEBRASKA– THURSDAY, MAY 30th, 2019) Last season the Nashville Knights went into Omaha with an undefeated 3-0 record, looking to cap a perfect regular season. As everyone expected with Nashville’s talent on that 2018 roster, the Omaha Heart was no match and the Knights took home an 80-0 victory.

This season the Nashville Knights are a completely different group of athletes compared to their inaugural season a year ago. Last year’s roster featured some of the best athletes in the game, future Hall-of-Famers, and a handful of All-Fantasy players. KK Matheny, Jade Randle, Stevi Schnoor, Dominique Malloy, and other veterans were all fly-by-night athletes for Nashville and had zero loyalty to the franchise or their ownership.

After gutting Seattle to compete in the East in search of a Championship which proved to not work out for the group of veterans, those same athletes decimated the Knights, the same way they did the Mist a year prior. Bandits, marauders, pirates…however you want to coin this group of athletes, one thing is certain- they are some of the best athletes to play in this league.

Nashville version 2.0 is very unknown at this point. The Knight’s head coach Yuir Howard noted “We really don’t have anybody you would know. We have a rookie team unproven and hungry to show what they can do.” Some of the notable athletes for Nashville are quarterback Molly Richardson, Netta Carter, and Austina Mellberg.

Nashville’s ownership set a goal to rebuild his team with local talent as well as bringing back some of the Knight’s rookies from last year to help this team compete. Nashville is going to rely on their athleticism and coaching to put together a winning group in 2019.

Nashville has been quiet this off-season on social media and their focus has been improvement and preparation.

This Week 7 contest between the Omaha Heart (0-1) and Nashville Knights (0-0) should be a competitive game. Omaha is fairly inexperienced in key positions, but are bolstered with some veteran players (none of which are standout athletes in the league) but they do bring game time experience to this roster.

Omaha’s key bright spot is rookie quarterback Lauren Crouch and wide-receiver Ana Garza. In order for Omaha to defeat a more athletic Nashville team, their defensive line and linebacker Jacqueline Good needs to play much better than they did against Seattle in their first game this year.

Will Nashville prove they are able to rebuild successfully with rookie talent or does Omaha’s Lauren Crouch and Company get their first victory of 2019?
