NASHVILLE AND DENVER WILL FIGHT TO KEEP PLAYOFF HOPES ALIVE
This Saturday’s contest will certainly be much closer. Both teams are evenly matched and though Denver has a slight edge in most position categories, Nashville is favored at home and many expect the Knights to pull off the win.
Denver would likely be favored in this game if Britney Perea, their franchise quarterback, was not out due to a neck injury/concussion sustained against the Seattle Mist. Perea has shown tremendous improvement this season and her offense was clicking well against the Mist. She will be replaced by back-up Jessica Poole, who has the talent to play the position but the question will be her ability to execute with having few practice reps.
The Dream are still in search of their first franchise win, after having lost the first 13 games in team history (2009, 2017-current). Some analysts believe this will be the game Denver finally gets that coveted first win.
After Saturday’s contest, the losing team will be eliminated from postseason contention and the winner will still have playoff hopes alive.
After this week’s game, the Knights will play Chicago and Austin to finish their regular season. Denver has one game remaining after Saturday- a Week-12 battle against Omaha.
