2019 Pre-Season Power Rankings
NO.1 SEATTLE MIST
Seattle re-hired legendary head coach and offensive guru Chris Michaelson while building the scariest offensive line-up in the history of the LFL. Defensively, the best pairing of a Safety combination in league history as well with Alli Alberts and Jade Randle.
NO.2 ATLANTA STEAM
Returning the ‘Triplets’ after an expected retirement was better than any free-agent signing, although this team still lacks the defensive dominance to win a Legends Cup. No.2 might be a little optimistic for this roster.
NO.3 AUSTIN ACOUSTIC
Additions far out-weighed losses, key loss was Leilanni Lopez but gained League MVP Michelle Angel and Hall of Fame running back Chrisdell ‘Ferrari’ Harris, Austin could easily be the No.1 seed by mid-season.
NO.4 LOS ANGELES TEMPTATION
A dysfunctional organization off the field with non-commital veterans, but any team with Ashley Salerno at Quarterback and a tough defense is at minimum in the Top 4. Look out for the LFL’s first Japanese athlete, Fuyuki Hamagucci, a stud WR.
NO.5 CHICAGO BLISS
Yes, the franchise is in re-build mode, but several key pieces re-signed including Defensive Player of the Year Kristin Morrison, Tamar Fennell, Javell Thompson and a great move in placing Tamika Robinson at Quarterback, an upgrade from Jayne Caldwell athletically.
NO.6 OMAHA HEART
Often at the bottom of the league, the Heart’s fate could change in 2019. Perhaps the most promising rookie Quarterback since Dakota Hughes, Lauren Crouch has the arm and legs to move the needle for an improved offense.
NO.7 NASHVILLE KNIGHTS
When a Lamborghini loses its engine, its no longer a Lamborghini. Departures of key free agents at vital positions will put pressure on the shoulders of an untested and young roster.
NO.8 DENVER DREAM
The ingredients are in place for this roster to surprise people in 2019. The return of Breeya Quintana from her horrifying leg-break, development of Brittney Perea at QB and a potential franchise RB in Liz Camack have things looking up in the Mile High City.
