(Wednesday, March 16th)

We are less than one month away from the start of a new LFL season. I’ll be lucky enough to travel to Seattle for my first official game and it can’t come soon enough! I’m looking forward to the whole experience the LFL has to offer and I couldn’t be more excited to take in the atmosphere of an LFL GameDay. This is a new and exciting experience for me and I couldn’t be happier it’s happening in Seattle. I hear the fans of Seattle are incredible!

I’ve traveled all over the US, but I have yet to travel to Seattle. The first thing that came to mind when I heard the game was in Seattle was of course, Sleepless in Seattle. I have wanted to visit Seattle ever since I saw that movie as a little girl! Who didn’t?! Hopefully, we won’t have too much of a rainy weekend. I know Seattle is known for its wet weather, but it won’t bother me! I may live in sunny California now, but I know all about rain from growing up in Pennsylvania.

The first time I discovered the league was when I heard about the Chicago Bliss. My cousin moved from Pennsylvania to Chicago and started practicing with the Bliss. She didn’t do more than a few practices before she had to stop due to scheduling issues, but she definitely seemed to enjoy it! She also still keeps in touch with a couple of the players. I think that is one of the things I’m looking forward to the most, getting to work with such great female athletes. The women of the LFL seem to be such strong individuals both physically and mentally. It’ll be nice to be around that type of energy! I can’t wait to meet the athletes of the Seattle Mist and Austin Acoustic at the first game.

The games themselves seem to be such high energy. The first clips I watched were like nothing I had seen before. Those highlights were what got me interested and caught my attention right away. There is nothing else like it on TV! First off, these athletes are playing in what is known as a “man’s sport.” Then, not to mention the fact these are beautiful women who are not scared to show off their bodies they have worked so hard at achieving, and to top it off, these women are also successful in other fields of work outside of football! I am beyond impressed with these ladies and I have a feeling the 2016 season is going to be the best yet!

I’ll be checking in each week during the season, so be sure to read about the 2016 journey from my perspective here on Outside the Lines. Until next time!
