LFL officials have reached an agreement with a prominent stadium in Brazil to host the 2014 LFL World Bowl, which will include a playoff between National Teams from the USA, Canada, Australia and Europe.
The top twenty athletes and top three coaches from each league will represent their respective countries in a championship series of games in July 2014. National Team rosters of players and coaches will be announced in March 2014.
Each of the two playoff games, as well as the LFL World Bowl, will be played in between World Cup matches so as not to compete with any World Cup events.
The 1st round will include USA facing Canada while Australia battles Europa. The winners of the playoff round will advance to play in the first-ever LFL World Bowl on the eve of the World Cup Final, July 12th 2014.
The LFL World Bowl will be played once every four years alongside the world cup.
Over half a million visitors are expected to be in Brazil for the 2014 World Cup, and each LFL game is expected to draw 30,000-50,000 fans. (More details to be announced in the coming weeks)
“Securing the ideal stadium is the first step in our development. It will surely be a surreal experience for our staff, players and coaches. The magnitude of this championship series will be incredible for our sport, crowning a true world champion,” said Mitchell S. Mortaza, Founder & Chairman, Legends Football League, LLC.
