(LAS VEGAS, NV. – Thursday, June 27, 2013) Legends Football League Canada (or ‘LFL Canada’) officials have announced the Toronto Triumph will not be competing in the upcoming season of LFL Canada. The Triumph was the first Canadian franchise with entry into LFL Football in 2011 competing in LFL USA’s Eastern Conference than rolled into the inaugural season of LFL Canada in 2012.
Reasoning for the suspension revolves around an inadequate arena as neither of its previous arenas including Ricoh Coliseum nor Hershey Centre were able to support the logistical or broadcast requirements of the LFL.
“The Triumph remain a signature franchise of LFL Canada and we look forward to returning the team to competition with a renewed focus and home. We are already in talks with a prominent venue that will be operational soon and ready to host the Triumph’s return to LFL Canada”, said, Mitchell S. Mortaza, Chairman, Legends Football League Global.
