LAS VEGAS (LFL360.com) — LFL officials announced the hiring of former Florida Gators record-setting quarterback Bob Hewko to replace Sean Salisbury in the broadcast booth for LFL Football for the remainder of the regular season and throughout the postseason. Hewko will make his debut, Friday, January 13th, for the MTV2 national broadcast of the Minnesota Valkyrie vs. Seattle Mist.
Hewko has close working knowledge of the LFL game, having coached the Miami Caliente during the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Inside league sources indicate that Salisbury was released due to continued antics that frustrated producers.
LFL Chairman and Executive Producer of LFL Football, Mitchell S. Mortaza, said, ‘While we valued the time Sean shared with us here at the LFL, ultimately we wanted a fresh perspective and someone that brought a level of excitement and enthusiasm to our broadcasts.”
LFL Media is hiring additional broadcast personnel in anticipation of or more expansion markets and additional games being broadcast in the coming seasons.
