Game—3-High-Res

MILE HIGH HOPES, FOR DENVER AS IT HOSTS CHICAGO (Official Game Preview)

A season-opening date without a franchise Quarterback, could spell disaster for the Denver Dream vs. the Legends Cup champion Chicago Bliss. The Bliss not only return all key starters but also re-sign All-Fantasy defensive end Nneka Kwani and will see the return of Alli Alberts from 2016 suspension.

Chicago has assembled perhaps the most dominant and athletic roster in the history of the LFL. The defense could become the LFL’s version of the 1985 Chicago Bears defense. 5 of the 6 Bliss defensive starters are or were All-Fantasy at one point. The fate of the season could be squarely on the shoulders of the Aussie Quarterback, Jayne Caldwell.

KEYS for CHICAGO:Bury Denver early, giving an expansion team hope early in the game, could make this game more interesting than expected. Caldwell will need to establish chemistry with the best tandem of receivers in the LFL, with Alli Alberts and AJ Johnson.

INJURIES: Healthy

PLAYERS to WATCH: Jayne Caldwell (QB), AJ Johnson (WR), Kristin Morrison (MLB)

Outside of LFL free-agent pick-up Lauren Fogle, Denver is an unknown entity. First-year head coach Carlos Bates is believed to have not had a great off-season program and a lot of turnover in coaching. Coupled with not having a franchise Quarterback under center, this could be a long season in the Mile High City.

KEYS for DENVER: Establish a run-game, even if you’re averaging 3 yards per carry, 3yds. per carry on 4 attempts equals a first down. MOVE THE STICKS AND HOLD ON TO THE BALL. Must run the ball and keep the clock moving, to have any shot at a competitive game going into the 4th Quarter.
